Glimmer

A glimmer,
A sparkle,
A shimmer of light.
Some kind of hope
That shines in this darkness.
It’s there,
Cloaked in sorrow,
But bravely shining on.
Stubbornly,
It refuses to go out.
It cries out,
“It’s NOT over!
Things WILL get better!
I WILL go on!”
Determined,
Resolute,
Invincible.
This glimmer of hope and light
Forever braving the darkness,
Growing in power with the passing of time.
Living inside me.
